Ways I Meditate ✨

Mediation doesn’t have to involve sitting still and being silent, and for people with high anxiety or trauma-it can feel really unsafe! If the traditional way of mediation works for you, that’s amazing! But it isn’t for everyone-myself included!

Sometimes mediation can look like stretching/yoga, or dancing! Sometimes it can look like painting or tending to your plants or garden! Sometimes it can look like lovingly tuning in with your body and asking what it needs. Journaling or ritual work are also great ways to get into flow state!

The object of meditation is to be grounded in the present moment, to calm your mind and body, to raise your vibration-and there are lots of ways to do that! I invite you to explore what works for you!❤️

Blessed be✨

... Read moreMeditation is often perceived as a practice that requires stillness and silence, making it daunting for those with anxiety or trauma. However, there are numerous creative approaches that allow individuals to engage in mindfulness in ways that feel safe and fulfilling. Moving your body, whether it's through dance, yoga, or simply stretching, can serve as a powerful form of meditation. Engaging in physical activities not only helps to release pent-up emotions but also regulates the nervous system, promoting a sense of calm and clarity. This approach encourages a focus on how movement feels rather than how it appears, creating a personal and enriching experience. Artistic activities such as drawing, painting, or even gardening provide another avenue for meditation. These practices can keep your hands busy and facilitate a flow state that fosters creativity and relaxation. Artistic expression has been linked to the release of serotonin and endorphins, which contribute to improved mood and reduced stress levels. Additionally, self-massage offers a more intimate way to connect with your body. By taking the time to identify areas of tension and applying gentle pressure, you can create a deeply meditative experience while alleviating stress. This practice not only relaxes the muscles but also boosts mental clarity and emotional resilience. Overall, exploring these various methods can help individuals find the right form of meditation that resonates with their personal journey, allowing them to cultivate mindfulness in a way that feels authentic and accessible.
