Clothes Iām Getting Rid of and Why
Spring cleaning alert! Hereās some of what Iām unhauling from my wardrobe going into spring. Iām a married woman now so Iāve been trying to dress more modestly and comfortably. So most of what Iām getting rid of is too tight, small, or short on me. Im also trying to pair down my wardrobe into pieces that I actually wear regularly, and while itās a struggle, Iām making progress š«¶

For me, as I embrace a more modest and comfortable approach to dressing post-marriage, this 'boyfriend fit' philosophy has become a guiding principle. It's about choosing pieces that allow you to move freely, feel relaxed, and still look chic without trying too hard. Instead of holding onto items that were "too cropped" or that I "never wore" because they just didn't feel right, I'm now looking for those versatile, relaxed-fit staples. Think oversized linen shirts that can be tucked, tied, or worn open; soft, flowing midi dresses that offer both modesty and ease; or even well-fitting, slightly relaxed denim that replaces the "too tight" shorts I just unhauled. Itās a shift from chasing trends to curating a wardrobe that genuinely makes me feel good. Itās about comfort without compromising on style. This doesn't mean sacrificing femininity for comfort. Far from it! It simply means redefining what makes me feel beautiful. Sometimes, a beautifully draped, comfortable top can be far more empowering than something that's constantly tugging or riding up. Itās about choosing fabrics that feel good against the skin and silhouettes that flatter without constricting. It's learning from those past purchases that were "so old" or simply "not my style" anymore and making smarter choices going forward. Building a new wardrobe after a big declutter is an opportunity to truly align your clothes with who you are today. It's about creating a collection of pieces that you genuinely love, that are comfortable, and that make getting dressed a joy rather than a struggle.
