🫧Back to School Shopping Haul🫧

Hello sweeties!!

I recently went up to Seattle to visit my boyfriend and we ended up University Village at University of Washington to go shopping!

I needed some basic shirts for layering pieces in the fall and to help update my capsule closet!! If you don’t know what a capsule closet is, it is timeless pieces you can continue to wear forever essentially!

I love the basic cotton t-shirts from Brandy because they are so soft and are slightly longer so I can wear them with low rise jeans.

I am also obsessed with the pink pj set I got! I know boxers have been a trend, but I sadly can’t take myself to wear them out in public not as pjs.

Overall, I am so happy with my purchase and cannot wait to show you guys what I will wear for the first day of school!!

... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you're interested in making your back-to-school wardrobe work harder for you. After my latest haul, I wanted to share some thoughts on how to really build a versatile and minimalist closet, especially for those busy college days. It’s all about making smart choices that you’ll love and wear repeatedly. Making Your Basics Work Harder: Versatility is Key When I'm picking up new pieces, like those super soft Brandy Melville cotton tees I found, I'm always thinking about how many different ways I can wear them. A great basic t-shirt isn't just for one outfit; it's the ultimate layering piece. For a chilly classroom, I can throw a cardigan or a flannel over it. For a warmer day, it's perfect on its own with jeans or a skirt. The idea is to have items that can easily transition from a study session to a coffee run, and even to a casual dinner with friends. This way, you're not constantly feeling like you have nothing to wear, even with fewer clothes. It’s about mixing and matching seamlessly. Finding Your Perfect Fit: Sizing Matters for Comfort and Style One thing I've learned is that the fit of your clothes can make or break an outfit, especially with basics. For me, those longer Brandy Melville tees are a godsend because they pair perfectly with low-rise jeans, giving me the coverage I want without constantly tugging. When you're looking for versatile pieces, don't just grab your usual size. Try it on! Think about how it feels when you move, sit, and stretch. Does it feel comfortable enough for a long day of classes? Does it flatter your shape? A well-fitting basic looks much more put-together than something ill-fitting, even if it's just a simple t-shirt. Pay attention to fabrics too – breathable cottons are always a win for comfort and durability. Travel-Friendly Fashion: Mastering the Art of Packing Light For those of us who might travel back home on weekends or dream of a quick getaway, a minimalist and versatile wardrobe is a game-changer. I always consider how easily a piece can be packed without wrinkling excessively or taking up too much space. My basic tees fold up tiny, and they're not delicate, so I don't have to worry about special care. Choosing items that can be worn multiple times with different accessories or layered differently means you can pack fewer items overall. This frees up space for textbooks or other essentials, and makes lugging your bag around so much easier. Beyond Basics: Infusing Your Personal Style While a capsule closet focuses on timeless basics, it doesn't mean your style has to be boring! These basics are your canvas. I love adding pops of color with accessories, or bringing in a fun item like my pink pajama set – even if it's just for cozy nights in. You can express your personality through unique shoes, jewelry, scarves, or even a statement jacket. The goal isn't to look exactly like everyone else, but to have a strong foundation that allows your personal style to shine through without needing an overflowing closet. It’s about intentional choices that reflect *you*. Embracing a minimalist approach to your back-to-school wardrobe means less stress, more versatility, and ultimately, a closet full of clothes you genuinely love and wear. Happy shopping!
