color analysis 🌸 review product recommendations
When I went to South Korea for the first time in April, I knew that I had to do my color analysis. I already had an inkling what I was so I was not surprised when the lady told me I was a 【 light spring 】 🌸
In addition to my color season, she sent a long list of recommendations for products. In the photos are some of her recommendations and the products found to be good for those who are light spring.
My overall experience is I liked it and it was insightful but not totally necessary in the grand scheme of things. I think it did help me admit some things regarding my make up style and I have since changed it. It depends on what you get out of the consultation.
I enjoyed it and felt it was good for me as someone who enjoys makeup, beauty and fashion.
Do I follow every recommendation? No, I still enjoy colors outside of my season. I kept some lip products and palettes outside of my season because I find it still looks good on me.
In my own eyes, I would say I’m a light spring leaning with light summer. But that’s just my opinion 🤷♀️
So, you're curious about diving deeper into your personal color journey, especially through the lens of K-beauty? After my own insightful experience getting analyzed in Seoul, I totally get it! Being identified as a Light Spring was a game-changer, and it's fascinating how specific the recommendations can be, especially with the incredible range of Korean cosmetics. For us Light Springs, our core characteristics are lightness and *warmth*, with a clear, delicate glow. Think of the soft, blooming colors of early spring – warm pastels, light peaches, gentle corals, and fresh greens. The magic of K-beauty for Light Springs lies in its emphasis on natural radiance and subtle, buildable colors that enhance without overpowering. When it comes to eyeshadows, the goal is to brighten the eyes without heavy contrasts. I've found that soft, shimmery neutrals, light golds, and delicate peach or coral tones are perfect. Brands like Wakemake, Peripera, and Lilybyred often have palettes with these ideal shades. Look for those everyday palettes that lean warm and light, rather than dark or smoky. A hint of glitter or a soft, pearlized finish can really make a Light Spring's eyes sparkle, just like those romantic K-drama looks! Blush is another staple for us. We want to emulate that healthy, youthful flush. Peachy-pinks, soft corals, and light apricot shades are our best friends. Brands like Rom&nd, 3CE, Fwee, and Saie are absolute gems for this. Even a classic like MAC has some fantastic warmer, lighter pinks that can work. The key is sheer, buildable formulas that give a natural pop of color to the cheeks, making you look fresh and vibrant, not overwhelmed. Think dewy or natural matte finishes. And for lips, oh, the K-beauty lip tint world is made for Light Springs! We thrive in clear, vibrant, yet delicate shades. Corals, light peach-reds, and warm pinks that aren't too cool or too bright are ideal. Brands like Fwee, Colorgram, Laka, Heart Percent, 3CE, Colorkey, Into You, Rom&nd, Amuse, and Wakemake offer so many incredible options. I personally adore tints that give a "my lips but better" effect, with a slight gloss or a soft, blurred finish. They enhance your natural lip color without being too overpowering. You might wonder how K-pop idols manage to look so perfectly coordinated with their concepts – well, personal color analysis plays a huge role! Just like how different Loona members have distinct color palettes that define their individual aesthetics, understanding your own Light Spring palette helps you curate a makeup collection that consistently makes you look your best. It’s not about restricting yourself, but about knowing what truly makes you shine brightest. You'll find that once you understand your personal colors, selecting K-beauty products becomes an exciting adventure to discover your most flattering shades. It’s all about enhancing your natural beauty and feeling confident in your choices!
