One of the original hotels that is located near one of Nashville's great performance halls that offers easy walks throughout the Downtown Nashville area is the Sheraton Grand. The Sheraton Grand is located on the upper north side of downtown Nashville. The historic hotel offers dining and cocktail options at two locations on the property. The Library Lounge offers dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menus offer a variety of different dishes for each dining experience. For a great cocktail experience that offers an amazing view, head up to the 28th floor at the Skye Lounge. Take in the views of the downtown Nashville area with a creative cocktail during the evening. The Skye Lounge is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am.
For entertainment this Christmas season near the Sheraton Grand, check out the Tennessee Performing Arts Center for the annual performance of the Nutcracker. They offer shows throughout the weekends throughout the month of December and running until December 26th. Various times are available for each show. This weekend they have shows at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm today while on Sunday they have shows at 1:00 pm. The performance is held at Jackson Hall at TPAC.
For dining nearby that has been recommended to me by post-it note, here are the following.
Drusie and Darr - A Jean-Georges Vongerichten dining experience. Globally inspired dining experience. It is located on 6th Avenue.
Sinatra's - Upscale Italian and Steakhouse dining experience with Frank Sinatra music in the background. It is located on 4th Avenue.
Ophelia's - Located on 4th Avenue, this Italian dining and Pizza stop offers an amazing, well-rounded experience.
Skull's Rainbow Room Located in Printer's Alley This is a historical stop with a burlesque dining experience.
Fleet Street Pub - Amazing Fish and Chips.
Church and Union - Upscale dining with American flair located on 4th Avenue.
Sheraton Grand is an excellent place in Nashville that offers amazing stays and awesome staff, especially with the valet crew. Add the Sheraton Grand when looking for hotels in downtown Nashville, plus a show at TPAC. #ridingwithkurt
... Read moreJust got back from an absolutely magical trip to Nashville, and I'm still buzzing from the holiday spirit! If you're dreaming of a festive getaway, you absolutely have to experience the Nashville Nutcracker Ballet. It’s more than just a show; it’s a whole tradition that truly makes the season sparkle.
Catching the Nutcracker with the Nashville Symphony at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC), specifically in Jackson Hall, was breathtaking. The stage came alive with incredible dancers, vibrant costumes, and Tchaikovsky's iconic music filling the air. It’s truly a world-class performance put on by the Nashville Ballet that transports you straight into a winter wonderland. I spotted a poster that said it runs from December 6-26, so make sure to check NashvilleBallet.com for tickets – they tend to sell out fast, especially for prime weekend slots! I'd recommend booking your tickets as soon as you can to get the best seats and times. Whether you choose a matinee for a family-friendly outing or an evening show for a more elegant experience, it's a treat.
After soaking up all that theatrical magic, having the Sheraton Grand just a short, easy walk away was an absolute lifesaver. No need to worry about parking or navigating busy streets after the show! The convenience made the whole experience so much more relaxing. Imagine this: after the final bows, you stroll back to the hotel, perhaps head up to the Skye Lounge on the 28th floor. Sipping on a creative cocktail while gazing at the twinkling Nashville skyline is the perfect way to wind down and reflect on the beautiful performance you just witnessed. The views are truly something else, and it feels like such a luxurious end to a perfect evening. Plus, the next morning, their Library Lounge offers a fantastic breakfast to start your day right.
And for dining? Nashville has so many incredible options that pair perfectly with a ballet night. For a truly special post-ballet dinner, I absolutely loved Sinatra's – the upscale Italian and steakhouse experience, complete with Frank Sinatra tunes, felt so fitting for a festive night out. For something a bit more unique and historical, Skull's Rainbow Room in Printer's Alley offers a burlesque dining experience that's a whole other kind of show! If you're leaning towards something more casual but still delicious, Ophelia's is a great Italian and pizza spot on 4th Avenue, or you can't go wrong with the amazing fish and chips at Fleet Street Pub. For an elegant American meal, Church and Union is a fantastic choice on 4th Avenue. Having these fantastic culinary options so close to both TPAC and the Sheraton Grand truly rounds out the entire experience.
If you're planning a holiday trip to Nashville, I can't recommend this itinerary enough. Combining the stunning Nashville Nutcracker Ballet with a comfortable stay at the Sheraton Grand and exploring these incredible dining spots makes for an unforgettable and truly festive experience. It's a symphony for all your senses!
