Last night I joined my mother for dinner at a place that I have received a post it note for and one of her favorite Italian restaurants in the Green Hills area. The ambiance is amazing along with top notched service. The food has immense flavor and anything that you order is amazing.
North Italia at the Green Hills Mall offers an incredible menu that ranges from appetizers, salads, pizza, pasta, and entree items. The first course was their White Truffle Garlic Bread which had hints of both garlic and truffle oil. The flavors were incredible, and the bread was very good. The second course was their Little Gem Caesar Salad. A very good Caesar salad where the lettuce was very tender and a great dressing that it is tossed in. The salad was topped with parmesan cheese and homemade croutons. The main course consisted of Braised Short Rib Lumache where the short rib had immense flavor along with a creamy sauce for the Lumache with a hint of Horseradish. The dish was absolutely delicious and great balance of flavor.
North Italia is located at the Green Hills Mall that offers plenty of great shopping at the mall and around the area. The restaurant is about eighteen minutes from Downtown Nashville. Dining at North Italia in Green Hills, TN, was an absolute treat, and I'm still thinking about some of their standout dishes. If you're looking for a memorable Italian experience, especially if you're in Nashville, this spot comes highly recommended. Let's talk about the starters. The White Truffle Garlic Bread is non-negotiable. Served beautifully in a small metal dish, each piece of bread is perfectly toasted and topped with a delicate blend of cheese and herbs. The aroma alone, with those distinct hints of garlic and truffle oil, is enough to get your taste buds buzzing. It’s rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying – truly a perfect way to begin your meal. It's no wonder this particular item comes up so often in searches; it's a signature for a reason! Next up, the Little Gem Caesar Salad. Often, a Caesar salad can be pretty standard, but North Italia’s version is a cut above. The tender lettuce leaves are crisp and fresh, generously tossed in a delicious dressing, and topped with plenty of grated Parmesan cheese and homemade croutons. It’s light yet flavorful, offering a refreshing contrast to the richer dishes. It prepared my palate perfectly for the main course. For the main event, the Braised Short Rib Lumache was a showstopper. The close-up view of this pasta dish truly doesn't do it justice. Imagine perfectly cooked pasta shells, infused with a creamy, delectable sauce that has just a hint of horseradish to give it an exciting kick. The star, of course, is the shredded short rib – incredibly tender, bursting with flavor, and melding seamlessly with the arugula and grated cheese. It's a hearty, comforting, and sophisticated pasta dish that I would order again in a heartbeat. It’s definitely among the best pasta dishes I've had recently. While I was thoroughly enjoying my selections, I couldn't help but notice other tables enjoying other popular items. I've heard fantastic things about their Chicken Parmesan, and seeing it pass by, it looked absolutely delicious and generous in portion. It's definitely on my list for my next visit to North Italia Green Hills, as are some of their other fresh pasta options visible on the menu. The overall ambiance, with its inviting interior dining area and view into the open kitchen, really adds to the experience, making it a great spot for a date night or a gathering with friends.
