Buffy Learn to Use Perfume Must Know!
For newbies who have just stepped into the world of perfume, seeing box abbreviations like EDP, EDT or EDC may seem a bit confusing, but these abbreviations are really the key to telling us how long the bottle is fragrant and how much it smells.
The main difference is the concentration of Fragrance Oil Concentrate. The more intense the smell is, the longer lasting and the price is often higher. It can be divided into the main categories as follows:
1.Eau de Parfum (EDP)
This is the most popular type for people who want value and durability.
Concentration: About 15% - 20%
Endurance: 6 - 8 hours (or more, depending on skin type)
Pros: The smell is deep and clear, suitable for injections to work, night work, or on days that require the smell to stay long without frequent replenishment.
2.Eau de Toilette (EDT)
Friendly to newbies and best suited to hot weather like our home.
Concentration: About 5% - 15%
Lasting: 3 - 5 hours
Highlights: The smell emphasizes refreshment, lightness and dispersal at an early date, suitable for everyday use (Everyday Look) or injection to study / gym.
3.Eau de Cologne (EDC)
Suitable for people who like refreshing cleanliness, like just having a new bath
Concentration: About 2% - 4%
Lasting: 1 - 2 hours
Pros: Primarily focus on refreshment, often a citrus (orange / lemon) or herbal scent, the scent fades very quickly, popularly injected for refreshment during the day.
4.Parfum / Extrait de Parfum
"The best of concentration, luxury and long-lasting."
Concentration: 20% - 40% (highest among fragrances)
Endurance: 8 - 12 hours + (some brands cross-day endurance)
Dispersion: The smell is not far-spread, but will be "buzzed around," feel soft and expensive.
Pros: It contains little alcohol, is suitable for sensitive skin, and does not require repeated injections during the day.
Brief summary, easy to remember:
EDP: Emphasis on tolerance, value for money (official / night out)
EDT: Refreshing emphasis, easy to use (going to class / work / daily use)
EDC: Focus Fresh, Light Scent (After Shower Injection / Refill During Day)
Parfum: Focus on Quality, Tight Scent (Luxury Work Out / Sensitive Skin People)
✨ More Trick for the Rookie
Don't look at the abbreviations: Sometimes the same perfume, but EDP and EDT, may have a slightly different scent note. It is recommended to try it on the skin before you make a purchase.
Injection position: For the smell to be durable and well dispersed, it should be injected at pulse points such as the wrist, arm crook, or back of the ear, because the heat from the body will produce the smell consistently. If you do not want to inject often and sensitive skin, choose Parfum; if you want to smell comfortably, fresh, choose EDT!
Preservation: Perfume should be stored in a cool and dark place, avoiding sun and humidity in the bathroom, so that it does not smell distorted.
If you're looking for the first perfume, you can start with EDT, because the smell is often easy to reach and not too pungent for those around you!
