Both items are linked in my storefront but can be found at target, Walmart, or Ulta!! :)

Step 1: lather your face with dermaplaning oil

Step 2: work in small sections shaving downwards slowly to prevent cuts.

Step 3: wash your face and moisturize :)

... Read moreEver wondered how some people achieve that effortlessly smooth, glowing skin? For me, the secret has been DIY dermaplaning right at home! It’s truly transformed my complexion, making my skin feel incredibly soft and allowing makeup to glide on flawlessly. This gentle exfoliation removes dead skin cells and fine 'peach fuzz,' revealing brighter, smoother skin underneath. Plus, my skincare products absorb so much better now, making them more effective. Before you begin, gather your essentials. You'll need a high-quality dermaplaning razor – I always use fresh disposable razors for safety and hygiene, just like the ones found in multi-packs. A good face oil is also crucial. I look for something natural and lightweight, specifically designed to help the razor glide smoothly and prevent irritation, similar to the 'OUILOE® FOR FACE' oil. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of my personal dermaplaning at home steps: 1. Thorough Cleansing & Preparation: Start with a completely clean face, free from makeup and impurities. I use a gentle cleanser and pat my skin completely dry. Ensuring your skin is dry is important before applying the oil. 2. Generous Oil Application: Don’t skip this step! I generously apply the specialized dermaplaning oil all over my face. This creates a vital protective barrier, allowing the razor to glide effortlessly without tugging or causing nicks. If your skin starts to feel dry during the process, apply a bit more. 3. Master the Shaving Technique: Hold Skin Taut: This is paramount. With your non-dominant hand, gently pull a section of your skin taut to create a flat surface. 45-Degree Angle: Hold the dermaplaning razor at a shallow 45-degree angle to your skin. Avoid a steeper angle, as this can increase irritation. Short, Downward Strokes: Use short, light, downward strokes. Always shave with the hair growth, never against it, to minimize the risk of irritation and ingrown hairs. Let the sharpness of the blade do the work; no need to apply excessive pressure. Work systematically across your face, section by section. 4. Post-Dermaplaning Care for Radiant Skin: Gentle Rinse: After completing all sections, I gently rinse my face with cool water to remove any oil residue and stray hairs. Hydrate & Soothe: Immediately follow with a soothing and hydrating serum or moisturizer with hydrating ingredients. I avoid harsh active ingredients like retinoids for at least 24-48 hours. Let Your Skin Breathe: Crucial tip! I always give my freshly exfoliated skin at least an hour before applying any makeup. It allows my skin to calm down and fully absorb nourishing products. Sun Protection is Key: Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. Always apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, even on cloudy days. Essential Tips I've Learned: Always Use New Razors: Never reuse a disposable razor. A dull blade causes irritation and ineffective exfoliation. Don't Overdo It: Every 3-4 weeks is ideal for my skin. More frequent sessions can compromise your skin's natural barrier. Listen to Your Skin: If you have active acne, eczema, rosacea, or open wounds, DIY dermaplaning is not recommended. Prioritize skin health. Following these detailed dermaplaning tutorial steps has truly helped me maintain smooth, vibrant skin at home, effortlessly!
