DAY IN MY LIFE AS A 4th GRADE TEACHER!!!🫶🏼💖

Happy Monday everyone!!! Here is a look at my day! We are well into the 2nd full week of school! Today I did my first socratic seminar with my 4th graders and it was SO FUN and successful! Have any other teachers done this with elementary students?

Not pictured: we did a really fun motivational Monday activity as a class! Love to incorporate SEL and positivity on a Monday! I will be spending the rest of my night lesson planning! 🤪

... Read moreTeaching is both challenging and rewarding, especially in a 4th-grade classroom where students are eager to learn and explore. Utilizing methods like Socratic seminars can enhance critical thinking skills among young learners, ensuring they engage deeply with the material. These seminars encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and articulate their thoughts clearly, fostering an interactive learning environment. Moreover, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is vital to creating a supportive classroom atmosphere. Activities that promote positivity and collaboration can significantly benefit students' emotional and social skills. For instance, incorporating motivational activities helps set a positive tone for the week, making Mondays a little brighter. As a teacher, balancing instruction with lesson planning is key. Evenings spent reviewing plans ensure that the next day’s lessons meet educational standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Tools like technology and peer collaboration can enhance lesson effectiveness, engaging students meaningfully. Overall, a day in the life of a teacher is packed with opportunities to nurture young minds, create lasting memories, and drive educational success!
