Hi friends! It’s me again, sharing even more about my amazing yellow Labrador retriever, Gabby Lane! When I first introduced her, I mentioned some of her favorite things, but there’s so much more to tell about this sweet girl. She truly brings so much joy into my life, and I love sharing glimpses of it with you all. One of Gabby's absolute favorite pastimes is going for car rides. Remember how I said she loves "hangin out the windows"? It’s true! She gets so excited, her tongue often hanging out with a happy grin, taking in all the smells and sights. We often take her on trips, whether it's just a quick run to the store where she patiently waits in the truck, or longer adventures. I always make sure she's safe, of course, with a doggy seatbelt or a secure spot in the back. After a muddy adventure at the dog park, she might even get a bath in the car before we head home – she sometimes looks a little ruffled but always happy on her red blanket in the back seat! Her love for water is undeniable. She absolutely adores playing in ponds! It’s not just about splashing; she’s quite the little hunter, always eager to "catch ducks." Of course, these are usually her favorite duck-shaped toys, which she proudly retrieves and carries around. I’ve seen her sitting by the grass near a pond, so focused on her toy, it's just adorable. When it’s super hot out, her blue plastic kiddie pool is her paradise! She’ll just sit right in it, cooling off and looking utterly content. It's safe to say she's a water baby through and through. At home, Gabby is the ultimate cuddle bug. When it’s cold outside, there’s nothing she loves more than snuggling up in bed. She’s definitely one of those dogs who thinks she’s a lap dog, even though she’s a full-sized Labrador! Her presence is so comforting, especially on a chilly evening. She also loves her toys. You might find her lying in a grassy field with yellow flowers, happily chewing on a dark purple object, or even playing with a fluffy, light brown stuffed animal toy that sometimes playfully covers her head. These little moments of pure joy are what make having a dog so special. Speaking of joy, one of her happiest places is definitely the dog park. Seeing her run free in a lush green dog park filled with clover, chasing after squirrels (unsuccessfully, thankfully!) or greeting other dogs, just fills my heart. She’s such a social girl and loves exploring. We even had a memorable Christmas where she wore a festive red bandana and sat so patiently beside our decorated Christmas tree – she truly is part of every family celebration. Gabby is more than just a pet; she’s family. Her playful spirit, her endless loyalty, and those sweet glances she gives you – especially when she's getting a good head scratch or when we're embracing in a close-up selfie – are moments I cherish. Whether she's helping me "supervise" work in the shop (even if it's just sitting on a dirt patch near a partially disassembled car) or just lounging at home, every day with Gabby Lane is an adventure.
