ART BOOK tour pt.3

I'm so thrilled you're joining me for another peek inside my art book! As you saw in my previous posts and some of these new pages, cartoon art truly holds a special place in my heart. There's just something magical about bringing beloved characters to life on paper, isn't there? Looking back at these drawings, especially the ones featuring classic characters like those mischievous Rugrats, the ever-adorable Tweety Bird, or the sweet Lady and the Tramp, brings back so many fond memories. It's like a little trip down memory lane to my childhood, spent watching fantastic shows on Cartoon Network and Disney. When I create these pieces, I often think about what makes certain cartoons so iconic. Is it the vibrant colors? The expressive lines? Or simply the stories they tell? For me, it's a combination of all these things. I remember trying to perfectly capture Reptar's roar or Chuckie's worried expression, or the playful spirit of Pluto. It’s a challenge, but such a rewarding one. My art book is a collection of these attempts and successes, a journey through my artistic growth. Beyond just copying familiar faces, I also love to experiment with different styles. You might have noticed some of the more abstract patterns in my book. Sometimes, it’s refreshing to step away from detailed characters and simply play with shapes, lines, and colors. These abstract doodles often become a warm-up exercise or a way to explore new visual ideas that might later inspire a cartoon character design. It's all about keeping the creative juices flowing! For anyone out there who loves cartoons and wants to try drawing them, my biggest advice is just to start. Don't worry about perfection. Grab a pencil and paper, pick your favorite character – maybe it's Tommy Pickles, Bugs Bunny, or even a simple character from a 90s cartoon network wallpaper you admire – and just try to sketch them out. You'll be surprised how quickly you improve with practice. I often find myself rewatching old episodes to study how animators convey emotion or movement. It's a fantastic way to learn! The beauty of cartoon art is its ability to evoke strong emotions and connect us to our past. Whether it’s the humor of Looney Tunes or the heartwarming tales of Disney, these characters become a part of our lives. My art book is a testament to that enduring love, a collection of moments where I've tried to pay homage to the art form that has given me so much joy.
