Book Recommendation: The Book of Boundaries

For self-help books, I usually prefer to listen to them on Audible. If there is a lot of information that I would love to refer back to quickly, then I will go get a physical copy. That was exactly the case for The Book of Boundaries by Melissa Urban!

I love how she gives so many examples of where you can set boundaries with family, friends, workplace, public gatherings, anything you can think of! And she provides examples of the initial boundary setting, the reminder boundary setting, and when you need to implement the consequence when boundaries are disregarded.

There are also examples of soft boundary settings when you just need to change the subject on a temporary situation without diving deeper into sharing information about your personal life.

There are constant reminders that boundaries are not about controlling other people but instead about loving ourselves enough to communicate with those around us when something is affecting us negatively and taking the appropriate actions that we do have control of.

I truly love this book, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to strengthen their communication skills with the people around you.
