genuine question

we’ve been friends for almost 5 years and i’m trying to get closer to god. my friend helped me out and gave me advice. she comes to me usually and we talk about her life and i give her advice. but when i went to her about things she was dismissive and was like “oh im sorry”. am i overthinking this or does this just happen? should i even reach out or just let it be?#gettingclosewiththelord #god #friends

Your experience highlights an essential aspect of relationships - emotional reciprocity. When engaging in meaningful conversations, it’s important that both parties feel heard and valued. Talking about personal growth, faith, and support within your friendships can be rewarding but also requires sensitivity. If your friend is dismissive, consider the possibility that they might be preoccupied with their own issues or may not be equipped to provide the support you seek right now. It may be beneficial to have an open and honest conversation about how you’re feeling. Furthermore, fostering a supportive environment involves understanding each other's needs. Perhaps, suggest a casual meetup where both of you can share your thoughts without any pressure. Building on shared experiences often helps strengthen bonds and allows for deeper discussions about personal and spiritual growth. Finally, remember that building closer relationships and a stronger connection with God is a journey. It’s okay to reassess how you engage with your friends while also ensuring your spiritual needs are met. Don’t hesitate to reach out to other supportive communities or mentors for guidance on your path to finding faith and friendship balance.
