Wee Bear Chainsaw Carving

Hello everyone! Long time no see! ❤️❤️❤️

If you’re wondering where I’ve been, I’ve been holed up in a little writing shack, working on my very first fantasy novel!

It came out of nowhere, exploding from my head. I’ve been working on it intensely and passionately for 1 year tomorrow!! The writing is complete at a ridiculous 220,000 words, but in typical Kyra fashion, I’ve also chosen to illustrate a drawing for all 56 chapters as well as make every artistic element, including the cover on my own. I’m nearing the last stretch, so wish me luck on finishing strong! 😂

I’ve been carving in the background, customizing my shop into an EPIC comic book style workshop (video coming), and I’ve built myself a custom writing shack out of an outdoor shed.

I’ve recorded most of this and have been itching to make a video for a while. I figured a good start would be a cute little bear! 🤣

I’ve missed you all! I hope you’ve had a great year, and I look forward to sharing more art and videos with you guys again! I also look forward to sharing my epic dark fantasy novel with you all. I’m planning on self-publishing sometime this year! (If any authors in my audience want to share advice in the comments, I would be so thankful!!)

Stay tuned for more info on that!

Some of these cute little carvings are still available and can be found on my website! Check them out at www.KyraWaits.com

Love you all!

Much love,

your friendly neighborhood carver girl, Kyra W. #chainsawcarving #kyrawaits

... Read moreAs someone who has explored chainsaw carving as a personal hobby, I can truly appreciate the creativity and dedication behind KyraWaits’ wee bear project. Chainsaw carving is an art that combines power and precision, allowing artists to transform raw wood into detailed sculptures with bold expression. The charm of carving tiny bears lies in capturing both the cuteness and character of the animal while working within the medium’s constraints. For anyone interested in starting chainsaw carving, I recommend beginning with simple designs like small animals or rustic figures to develop confidence handling the chainsaw safely. Investing time in learning proper carving techniques, understanding wood types, and maintaining your chainsaw are key steps to improve your craft without frustration. Kyra’s artistic journey, balancing carving with writing and illustrating a massive fantasy novel, also highlights the powerful intersection of visual and literary creativity. Illustrating all 56 chapters herself ensures a deeply personal and cohesive presentation that draws readers further into her fantasy world. Her approach of customizing her workshop into a comic book style setting and creating a dedicated writing shack is inspiring for anyone looking to enhance their creative workflow through personalized environments. Such spaces can boost motivation and focus, making the process more enjoyable. For those interested in Kyra’s carved artwork, checking her website KyraWaits.com is a great way to support independent artists. Unique hand-crafted pieces like her wee bears make delightful collectibles or gifts, connecting fans with the passion behind the work. Ultimately, Kyra’s blend of chainsaw carving and fantasy storytelling is a unique example of nurturing multiple artistic talents simultaneously. For creative individuals juggling different mediums, her experience demonstrates that commitment and passion can lead to fulfilling projects that resonate on many levels.
