How I organize my money! 💰💵💸

I have five different types of accounts for my money organization.

First is my normal checking account. I use this to deposit my pay check, pay my bills, etc! The interest rate on this account is low so it’s more just for transactions!

Next is my high-yield savings account. Money that I’m not paying out immediately I move into this account. The interest rate right now is around 4%. You can add or withdraw money at any time as it’s just a bank account. The interest is free money!

I have a Roth IRA . You can contribute up to $7000 per year. The money grows tax-free and you can withdraw both what you contributed and the interest tax-free in retirement. If you need to withdraw what you contributed, you can do so at any time penalty free.

I have a 401(k). Employers match up to a certain percentage so make sure to contribute that amount in order to get the free employer match. This money is automatically taken out of my paycheck and put into this account.

Last is a brokerage account. I use this as my investment account for any extra money that I want to grow. Compounding interest will help this money grow over time.

The high-yield savings account provides a higher interest rate for funds not needed immediately, effectively helping you save more. The Roth IRA is a powerful tool for long-term savings, allowing tax-free growth and penalty-free withdrawals of contributions. Coupled with a 401(k), which typically includes employer contributions, these accounts build a strong retirement strategy. Lastly, a brokerage account opens doors to investing, enabling you to benefit from compounding interest.
