I recently picked up a new coloring page and immediately knew I wanted to give it a fresh, modern twist. The scene was so charming – a girl drying her dog in a bathroom with a hairdryer – but I envisioned something more chic and personal. My mind instantly went to that gorgeous pink-tiled bathroom inspo photo I found, complete with a unique dark green sink and a stunning golden chandelier. I wanted to infuse that luxurious, yet playful, vibe into my coloring book page. It really helped to have a clear 'inspo' image to guide my color choices and overall aesthetic. Choosing the right shades of pink for the walls and tiles was absolutely key to achieving that dream pink bathroom look. I experimented with layering different tones, starting with a lighter base and building up to deeper fuchsias and rose hues to create depth and dimension. This approach helped me make sure the overall effect was warm, inviting, and not too flat. For the bathtub and shelves, I opted for crisp whites and light grays to make the vibrant pink pop even more, creating a beautiful contrast. The shower curtain was a particularly fun challenge! Instead of just coloring a traditional floral shower curtain, I decided to replicate the sleek, modern look of glass panels. This involved using very light blues and grays, almost translucent, and then carefully adding subtle white highlights and thin lines to mimic reflections and the edges of the glass. It truly transformed the entire feel of the bathroom, giving it that super contemporary edge I was aiming for. It's incredible how a small detail can completely change the perception of a scene. And let's not forget the lively details that bring the scene to life! The plants in the bathroom were colored with various shades of vibrant greens, adding a refreshing touch of nature that beautifully contrasted with the pink environment. The brown dog and the girl received careful attention, using natural skin tones and fur colors, along with subtle shading, to make them feel dynamic and present in the moment. I used my Ohuhu markers for this project, finding them perfect for blending different shades to get smooth transitions and rich colors. It’s amazing how a simple coloring page can become such a versatile canvas for creative expression. This wasn't just about 'coloring a picture'; it was about bringing a personal vision to life, much like an interior designer plans a real space. The whole process was incredibly relaxing and therapeutic, making it a true coloring therapy session. Losing myself in the intricate details, from the hairdryer in the girl's hand to the unique design of the sink, was a perfect way to unwind after a long day. It's a wonderful escape. Seeing the flash and no flash versions of my finished artwork side by side also taught me a lot about how lighting can dramatically affect the final look and vibrancy of colors in my artwork. It's always a good idea to check your work in different lighting conditions! If you're looking to make this picture colourful and add your unique touch to a coloring book bathroom scene, don't be afraid to experiment with themes and colors. Take inspiration from real-life spaces, just like I did with my pink-tiled bathroom dream. Think about how different textures can be rendered with markers or pencils, and how highlights can create the illusion of glass or shine. It makes the entire coloring book bathroom experience so much more rewarding, turning a simple pintado into a truly personal masterpiece that reflects your own style and imagination. Happy coloring!
