This is my CatBus 🚌 🐈 KITTEN PHOTO EDITION

When i got bus he was RIDDLED with fleas, but when we washed him up in the bath, he purred as the warm water poured over him- like he knew he was going to be safe and taken care of from that moment on.

He is now 15LBS but still loves being carried. He is shedding now (hence the first picture) but it made me think about when his whole bodu had as much hair as he can loose in one petting now. #petsoflemon8 #cat #bus #kitten #lemon8challenge

... Read moreIt's hard to believe how much time has passed since I first brought my sweet 'CatBus' home. When I say he was 'riddled with fleas,' it's almost an understatement. He was so tiny, just a little bundle of fur, probably around 3.5 months old, as the photos clearly show. My heart broke seeing him in that state, but I knew right away I wanted to give him a safe, loving home. The first thing we had to tackle was those pesky fleas. It’s always a daunting task, especially with a young kitten. I remember being so nervous about giving him his first bath. Kittens can be quite vocal about water! But 'Bus' surprised me. As the warm water poured over his little body, he didn't fight or scratch. Instead, he started to purr – a deep, rumbling sound that filled the bathroom. It was like he understood, like he knew this was the start of something good, a sign that he was finally safe and truly cared for. That moment solidified our bond forever. In those early days, 'Baby Bus' was a true little clinger, which I absolutely adored. He had a habit of sleeping right in my hood, making me feel like I was carrying my own personal, purring backpack everywhere. It was the cutest thing, and honestly, a little addicting! He was always right by my side, following me from room to room, a tiny shadow. I also recall how he grew up alongside a sister, Mayble, for a time. Even though she's not with us anymore, those early kitten days were filled with double the mischief and double the love. Seeing them play together was pure joy. Dealing with fleas on a kitten requires patience and the right products. I learned that using a gentle, kitten-safe flea shampoo is crucial, and making sure the water is comfortably warm. Brushing them thoroughly afterwards helps, too. For anyone finding a kitten in a similar situation, don't be afraid to ask your vet for specific advice – they're a lifesaver! Now, 'Bus' is a healthy 15-pound majestic cat, but some things never change. He still loves being carried, often wrapping his front paws around my neck, just like he did when he was small enough to fit in my hood. And yes, the shedding is real now, especially with his luxurious coat! It makes me think back to when he was so small, and now he can shed enough fur to make a whole new kitten. Every time I stroke him and feel his purr, it reminds me of that first bath, that moment of trust, and how he became my absolute favorite boy in the whole world. It's truly incredible to witness their transformation and be a part of their journey.
