Its no cali coast but Washington hits different
We saw some local wildlife
We sat and listened to the waves
It was great weather we even took a little dip!
Tulalip Reservation is a slice of heaven <3 #california #washington
After years of hearing about California's sun-drenched shores, I always knew my local Washington beaches had their own unique charm, and I was so excited to share it with my friend from California. She's used to the classic Cali vibe, so I braced myself for her reaction, especially when I told her we were heading to my favorite spot near the Tulalip Reservation. What struck us both immediately was the sheer sense of tranquility. It wasn't the bustling, crowded scene you often find down south. Instead, we were greeted by wide-open stretches of sandy beach, framed by lush evergreen forests. The air felt crisp and clean, and the sound of the waves truly was the dominant soundtrack. I remember watching her as she stood there, looking through her binoculars, taking it all in – a Californian truly experiencing the Pacific Northwest coast for the first time. The text on one of my photos even captured that moment: 'TOOK A CALIFORNIAN TO MY FAVORITE WASHINGTON BEACH SWIPE TO SEE WHAT SHE THOUGHT.' We spent hours just exploring. We found some incredible pieces of driftwood, much larger and more weathered than anything you'd typically see on a California beach. These natural sculptures were perfect for sitting and enjoying the view. My friend, who usually heads straight for the surf, was captivated by the tide pools we discovered, teeming with tiny crabs and anemones. She even commented on how the light on the water on that sunny beach was just mesmerizing, reflecting the distant treeline beautifully. One of the biggest differences we noted was the wildlife. We spotted several eagles soaring overhead, and even a few seals popping their heads out of the water. It’s a very different ecosystem, and that raw, untamed beauty really resonated with her. We even took a bit of a dip, and while the water certainly wasn't as warm as California's, it was incredibly refreshing after a long walk! When I saw her smiling broadly for the camera, her face lit up, I knew my Washington coast mission was a success. The caption 'SHE LOVED IT!' on my photo wasn't just for show. She admitted that while California has its appeal, Washington's coast offers something truly special – a rugged, natural elegance that feels like a hidden gem. If you're ever considering a trip from Cali to Washington, or just curious about how these two stunning coastlines compare, I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing a Washington beach for yourself. It’s a different kind of beautiful, and sometimes, different is exactly what you need.

Beautiful view! Your photo made me feel like I'm there.
