I take everything back about Dan and Serene
I take everything back about how I said he was a creep and how she was pick me because at the end of episode one they were actually cute and they help save Jenny now I’m on episode two and I’m watching as they both freaking out about the very awkward coincidence also I love serene’s little brother so much.

Confession time, Lemon8 fam! I've been doing a full Gossip Girl rewatch, and I'm utterly shocked by how much my opinions have shifted, especially about Dan and Serena. I remember starting this rewatch thinking, 'Ugh, Dan is such a creep,' and Serena was just... well, not my favorite, giving off serious 'pick me' energy. But can I just say, after watching that first episode again, I'm taking everything back!!! Seriously, I was so ready to fast-forward through their scenes, but then, they were actually kinda cute? Especially that moment when they both jumped in to help Jenny. Seeing Serena step up and be a true 'girls girl at this moment' really caught me off guard. It wasn't just about their romantic potential; it was about seeing them as genuinely good people, at least in that early stage. And when they had that super awkward, but totally understandable, freak-out about spotting each other, it felt so realistic! It made me think, 'We love Dan!' – a sentiment I never thought I'd have in season one. It got me thinking about the 'staying power' of characters like Dan. He's always been a divisive figure in the GG universe, but there's a reason we keep talking about him. His journey from 'Lonely Boy' to... well, you know, is one of the most intriguing arcs. Rewatching, I'm finding new layers to his character that I completely missed the first time around. He's not just a plot device; he's a complex person with his own motivations, even if they sometimes lead to questionable decisions. What makes some characters resonate for so long, sparking endless debates and fan theories, while others fade into the background? Dan definitely has that enduring quality. And let's talk about Serena. Beyond her romantic entanglements, her friendships are such a huge part of her story. Thinking about the 'Serena and Blair do besties better than anyone' sentiment, it’s true! Their friendship is iconic, navigating jealousy, loyalty, and countless dramatic ups and downs. It's a testament to the show's writing that these relationships, whether romantic or platonic, feel so real and impactful. Serena's character isn't just defined by who she's dating, but by the fierce loyalty and complicated love she shares with her best friends. It adds so much richness to her storyline and makes her more relatable, even amidst all the Upper East Side glamour. Rewatching Gossip Girl has truly been an eye-opening experience. It’s funny how time and perspective can completely change your perception of characters you thought you knew. I'm now on episode two, and I'm genuinely invested in seeing where Dan and Serena's story goes again, appreciating the little moments and character nuances I overlooked before. Has anyone else had a similar experience with a rewatch, where your initial judgments were completely flipped?

Just you wait!!!
