Primera visita a la pirámide 🫶
11 años viviendo en esta bella ciudad, primera vez en la piramideMemphis Pyramid @#pyramid
You might be surprised to hear pyramids in Tennessee in the same sentence, but Memphis boasts its very own, incredibly unique pyramid! For years, I'd driven past this massive structure, always curious but never stepping inside. My first visit was truly an eye-opener, making me realize what an incredible local gem I'd been overlooking. Originally built as a sports arena, the Memphis Pyramid underwent a spectacular transformation and is now home to the world's largest Bass Pro Shops. But don't let the name fool you – it's far more than just a retail store; it's an immersive experience designed to wow visitors. Imagine walking into a literal cypress swamp, complete with live alligators, fish, and towering trees, all beneath the expansive, glass-paneled roof of a pyramid. It’s an unbelievable sight that instantly transports you. Exploring the various levels, I was captivated by the sheer scale and attention to detail. The 100-foot-tall cypress trees indoor, the cascading waterfalls, and the massive 600,000-gallon water feature create an atmosphere unlike any other retail space. Even if you're not an outdoor enthusiast, there's so much to marvel at. You can find everything from fishing gear and hunting necessities to camping essentials and unique gifts, but the real draw is the adventure itself. One of the absolute highlights is taking the world's tallest free-standing elevator up 300 feet to the top of the pyramid. Here, you'll find a breathtaking, glass-floored observation deck. The panoramic views of the Mississippi River, the Arkansas delta, and the Memphis skyline are absolutely spectacular. It’s an incredible spot for photos and definitely gives you those weekend vibes you're looking for, making it worth the trip alone. Beyond the main store and observation deck, the Pyramid also houses an underwater-themed bowling alley, several restaurants (including The Lookout at the Pyramid, offering incredible views), and the Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center. It's a full day of activities packed into one incredible structure. My first visit made me realize it's not just a building; it’s a destination that perfectly captures a sense of adventure and the unique charm of Memphis. If you're ever looking for something out of the ordinary to do in Tennessee, the Memphis Pyramid should definitely be on your list for an unforgettable experience!
