It happens when we make too many decisions throughout the day, leading to mental exhaustion and poorer choices. I've experienced this firsthand, especially during busy workweeks when every task seems to require its own decision. One effective method I've adopted is simplifying my daily routines to minimize trivial decisions. For instance, choosing my outfit the night before or planning meals ahead saves me from spending mental energy on small choices. Additionally, setting priorities helps me focus on the most important tasks early in the day when my mind is freshest. Working too hard without breaks can worsen decision fatigue, as indicated by the phrase "working too hard because | actually". To combat this, I've started integrating short breaks and mindfulness exercises into my schedule. These moments of rest recharge my focus and prevent burnout. Another tip is to limit the number of options you consider. When faced with many alternatives, I try narrowing down to two or three choices before making a decision. This approach reduces overwhelm and speeds up the process. Lastly, technology tools like task managers or habit trackers have helped me streamline decisions and maintain consistent routines.
