Ice Skating in LA ⛸️

OMG, you guys! If you're looking for the ultimate winter wonderland experience right in the heart of Los Angeles, you absolutely HAVE to check out Pershing Square ice skating. I recently visited, and it was everything I hoped for and more! You know how sometimes LA doesn't feel very "wintery"? Well, this place totally transforms downtown. It's truly a unique feeling when you're skating at the warmest ice rink in DTLA, with skyscrapers towering all around you and the festive lights twinkling. I wanted to share my personal tips and why Pershing Square ice skating is a must-add to your bucket list. First off, the atmosphere is just electric. Whether you go during the day to catch some sun or at night when the city lights come alive, it’s magical. I personally love going in the evening – the reflections on the ice are stunning, and it feels extra festive. Planning Your Visit: Tickets & Reservations: It's always a good idea to check their official website for current operating hours, specific dates, and ticket prices. Sometimes they have special events or themed nights! Buying tickets online in advance can definitely save you time waiting in line, especially on weekends or closer to holidays. Best Time to Go: If you prefer fewer crowds, aim for a weekday morning or early afternoon session. The evenings and weekends tend to be busier, but that also adds to the lively energy! What to Wear: Even though it's the "warmest ice rink," it's still an ice rink! Dress in layers. A light jacket or sweater is usually enough, but you might want gloves, especially if you're prone to falling (like me!). Don't forget long socks for comfort with the rental skates. Skate Rentals: They have skates available for rent in all common sizes. The rental process is usually pretty smooth. If you have your own skates, you can bring them! Getting There: Pershing Square is super accessible. There’s a Metro station right there, which I highly recommend. My Experience & Tips for Skating: The ice quality was surprisingly good, and the staff were friendly. For newbies, they often have skate aids (like little walkers) available for rent, which can be a lifesaver for building confidence. I saw so many families having a blast, and it’s a really fun date night idea too. Gliding around, listening to the music, and just soaking in the downtown vibe made me feel so happy. It’s a great way to get some exercise and create some amazing memories. After your session, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants around Pershing Square to grab a warm drink or a bite to eat.
