Pink at its Peak!

Seeing my Alocasia Pink Cuprea push out a new, stunning leaf always fills me with so much joy! It's truly one of those plants that makes all the effort worthwhile. What first drew me to the Alocasia Pink Cuprea was its absolutely striking foliage. Crispy leaf edges are often a tell-tale sign that your plant is craving more moisture in the air. For soil, I use a chunky, well-draining mix that retains some moisture but allows for good airflow around the roots. My mix usually includes a good quality potting soil, perlite, and some orchid bark. During the growing season (spring and summer), I fertilize every few weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. This really helps it produce those large, healthy leaves. One thing I've learned is to regularly check for pests. Alocasias can sometimes attract spider mites, so a quick wipe-down of the leaves (especially the undersides) with a damp cloth every now and then, or a spray with a neem oil solution, can keep them at bay.
