DIY Gel Air Fresheners
Custom Scents That Last!
Ingredients :
• 1 cup water (divided: 3/4 cup + 1/4 cup)
• 1 packet (about 1 tablespoon) unflavored gelatin
• 1 tablespoon salt (helps prevent mold)
• 10-15 drops essential oil (lavender, lemon, peppermint, eucalyptus, etc.)
• Food coloring (optional, for pretty tinted gels)
• Heatproof glass jars or small containers (mason jars, jelly jars, or decorative cups)
• Saucepan + spoon for stirring
Directions:
• Heat the water:
In a small saucepan, bring 3/4 cup of water to a gentle boil.
• Dissolve the gelatin:
Add the unflavored gelatin packet to the boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved and smooth.
• Add salt:
Stir in 1 tablespoon of salt to help preserve the gel and prevent mold growth.
• Mix in scent & color:
Remove from heat. Add the remaining 1/4 cup cold water, then stir in 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oil. Add 1-2 drops of food coloring if you'd like to tint the gel.
• Pour into jars:
Carefully pour the mixture into small glass jars or containers.
• Cool & set:
Let the jars sit at room temperature until the gel fully sets (a few hours).

when they dry out add a bit of water to refresh them, my Gramma used to do this with store bought ones
