Piercingssss ✨🥂
Finally did it, and I couldn’t be happier 🥹
PAIN- 1/10 tbh. Piece of cake.
I did take an I ibuprofen 45-60 min prior tho. *work smart not harder* 🤣
I did bleed a good amount but I didn’t bleed after an hour.
My tongue is sore, it’s a struggle to eat 😭.
Due to me taking ibuprofen I have not dealt with swelling but I’m sure I will when I wake up 💀
Was a tingly sensation in my tongue for a while but not anything bad. So happy I did this 😪 I wish I had recorded it! #tongue #piercings #frogeyes #beauty #lemon8
So, you're wondering, 'how bad does a tongue piercing hurt?' I totally get it – that was my biggest question too! Before I went in, I was anticipating a pretty intense CRUSH of pain, thinking it would be excruciating. But let me tell you, my experience was surprisingly chill, a solid 1/10 on the pain scale during the actual piercing itself. It felt like a sharp pinch, followed by a slight pressure, and then it was just... done! The real game-changer for me was taking ibuprofen about 45-60 minutes beforehand. Seriously, work smarter, not harder applies here! It truly helped minimize the initial shock and any immediate throbbing. While I did bleed a bit right after, it stopped within an hour, which was a relief. The first few hours were more about a tingly, weird sensation than actual pain. However, the soreness definitely set in later. My tongue felt a bit bruised and swollen, making eating a bit of a challenge. I found myself sticking to super soft foods like yogurt, smoothies, and mashed potatoes for the first couple of days. Cutting food into tiny pieces and eating slowly became my new normal! Talking was also a little awkward at first; I felt like my tongue was too big for my mouth, but you quickly adapt. Managing the swelling is key to a comfortable healing process. Beyond the ibuprofen, I found that sipping on ice water frequently helped a lot. Avoiding super hot or spicy foods is also crucial, as they can irritate the fresh piercing. Proper aftercare, like religiously using a non-alcoholic, alcohol-free mouthwash after every meal, is vital not just for hygiene but also for keeping discomfort at bay. You really don't want to deal with an infection on top of normal soreness! Overall, while the initial piercing pain was minimal for me, expect a few days of discomfort, especially when eating and talking. It's a journey, but totally worth it if you're thinking of getting one! Everyone's pain tolerance is different, but hopefully, my honest experience gives you a clearer picture of what to expect.
