Read moreOkay, so I've been seeing a lot of buzz around Marvel Rivals lately, and with all the character reveals, I can't help but wonder about one particular adorable, finned friend: Jeff the Land Shark! Seriously, did anyone else immediately think of him when they heard about new Marvel games? I mean, how can you not love Jeff? He’s seriously one of the best things to come out of Marvel comics in recent years. For those who might not know this absolute gem, Jeff the Land Shark isn't just some random cute animal. He first swam into our hearts in the pages of West Coast Avengers with Gwenpool, and then later became an unforgettable companion to Deadpool. Who would've thought a land shark could be so charming and hilarious? His antics are always a highlight, bringing a much-needed dose of pure joy and absurdity to whatever comic he appears in. He doesn't talk, but his expressions and actions speak volumes. He's like the ultimate silent comedian, always there to lighten the mood or occasionally, accidentally, save the day. What makes Jeff so special, in my opinion, is his complete innocence and unwavering loyalty. Despite being a shark, he's incredibly gentle and just wants to be loved (and maybe eat tacos). He's a perfect example of how Marvel can introduce truly unique and beloved characters, even if they start as a quirky sidekick. Fans have absolutely embraced him, and it's easy to see why. Just search for 'Jeff the Land Shark fan art' – you'll be swimming in cuteness! Now, about Marvel Rivals. When I saw the #marvelrivals tag, my mind immediately went to the possibility of Jeff making an appearance. Imagine him as an emote, a pet, or even a mini-sidekick for a character like Deadpool or Gwenpool! That would be such an amazing fan service. It would be a highlight for many players, myself included, to see him waddling around the battlefield or popping up in a winning pose. He brings a unique charm that could really add to the game's personality. I've been keeping an eye on all the announcements, hoping for even a tiny glimpse of him. It feels like such a missed opportunity if he's not included in some form. He's become such an iconic, meme-worthy character that he transcends just the comic pages now. People genuinely adore him, and he represents a lighter, funnier side of the Marvel Universe that sometimes gets overshadowed. So, I'm holding out hope that the developers at NetEase and Marvel Games are listening to us fans. Bringing Jeff into Marvel Rivals, even in a small capacity, would truly be a highlight and would undoubtedly generate even more positive buzz for the game. What do you all think? How would you want to see Jeff the Land Shark integrated into Marvel Rivals or other Marvel games? Let's manifest some Jeff content!
