It’s finally time
Hello February TBR! #throne of glass #booktok #assassinsblade
Oh my gosh, February is finally here, and I'm beyond thrilled to share my TBR pile! There's just something magical about flipping the calendar to a new month and curating a fresh stack of books to dive into. This time, I'm making a big commitment: I'm finally, finally starting the 'Throne of Glass' series by the incredible Sarah J. Maas! I've seen this series absolutely dominate BookTok for ages, and honestly, the hype is real. Everyone talks about the epic world-building, the fierce characters, and the incredible journey Celaena Sardothien embarks on. I'm kicking things off with 'The Assassin's Blade,' which I know is a novella collection that serves as a prequel. I've heard mixed opinions on reading order – some say start with 'Throne of Glass,' others swear by 'Assassin's Blade' first. After much deliberation and scrolling through countless BookTok recommendations, I decided to go with the prequel first to really understand Celaena's background and her motivations from the get-go. I'm hoping it makes the main series even more impactful, adding layers to her character and her past. If you've read it, let me know your thoughts on the reading order! I'm already anticipating the emotional rollercoaster this series is famous for. BookTok has truly become such an amazing community for discovering new reads and connecting with fellow book lovers. It's a constant source of inspiration for my TBR, from quick reviews to aesthetic book edits, and even deep dives into character analyses. It's how I first stumbled upon Sarah J. Maas's work and got completely hooked on the idea of her intricate fantasy worlds. The sheer volume of recommendations can be overwhelming, but it's also wonderful to see so many people passionate about reading and sharing their favorite stories. It makes me feel like I'm part of a bigger global book club, discovering 'top books' right alongside everyone else. If you're like me and constantly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of amazing books out there, especially from BookTok, I've picked up a few tricks. First, don't feel pressured to read every trendy book. Pick what genuinely excites you, even if it's not the 'hottest' release. Second, utilize your local library – it's a fantastic way to try out popular books without breaking the bank. It also helps you explore different genres and authors without commitment. And third, engage with the community! Ask for spoiler-free opinions, join reading challenges, and share your own experiences. It makes the reading journey so much more fun and interactive. Don't forget to pace yourself; reading should be enjoyable, not a race. Sometimes it's okay to put a book down if it's not working for you, or to pick up a lighter read after a heavy fantasy epic. What are your plans for February? Have you read 'Throne of Glass' or any other Sarah J. Maas books? I'd love to hear what's on your radar and what hidden gems you've discovered lately. Let's make this a month full of fantastic reads and meaningful discussions!
