Make Plain Beautiful
This is a laser-able portfolio.
I no longer have access to a laser so my creative self couldn’t keep looking at a plain canvas.
Pulled out all my Happy Planner Patches that have been setting around collecting dust and my trusty sticker books I have had for a long time.
This is an extension to my prayer journal. I have a hard time staying on task so with this as I’m writing to God if some out of nowhere idea pops up I have the portfolio paper to jot it down so I can continue my writing. I will also be using this for Bible Studies so if something jumps out at me or another thought 🤦🏾♀️ I have this pad to keep me on track as well as not forget whatever came to mind.
Happy crafting and blessings🛐💐🙏🏾

Using a plain portfolio as an extension of a prayer journal is a wonderful idea that not only boosts creativity but also deepens your spiritual practice. From my experience, incorporating visual elements like Happy Planner patches and stickers can make journaling more engaging and help maintain focus during prayer or Bible study sessions. For example, when unexpected thoughts or inspirations arise while reflecting or writing prayers, having a designated space to quickly jot them down prevents distraction and promotes a smoother flow of spirituality and creativity. Adding decorative elements such as religious-themed stickers—like phrases, words, icons, and alphabets—can create an inviting and personalized environment within your journal. This personalization also serves as gentle reminders of faith and encouragement, helping you stay grounded and motivated. I particularly like using stickers with uplifting Bible verses like "God is Love" (as inspired by Matthew 11:28) or encouragements such as "Pray Without Ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18), which elevate the journal’s spirit and meaning. Another tip is to use your journal during dedicated Bible study times. When a particular scripture stands out or a new insight comes to mind, jotting it in your portfolio journal can deepen your understanding and serve as a reference for future reflection. Make your journal not just a passive notebook but an interactive prayer companion that grows with your spiritual journey. Finally, repurposing materials you already have on hand—whether sticker books collected over time or planner patches—helps reduce waste and inspires resourcefulness. Even if you don't have access to a laser to engrave or decorate the pages, layering stickers and creative notes can beautifully transform a plain canvas into an uplifting space for prayer and gratitude. Remember, the act of crafting your journal is itself a mindful practice that brings blessings and joy.
