I looked it up, this was a rare planetary alignment in Tampa where Jupiter, Venus, Mars, Saturn as well as the Moon were all visible simultaneously. And yes, you can sometimes see planets without a telescope, although usually there’s 0-2 planets visible, and it depends on the light pollution, location in the sky, etc.
