One thing I've learned is that understanding your marker colors is key—whether you're using shades like PB11, GY5, or RV160, experimenting with layer blending can create stunning effects such as smooth gradients and vibrant textures. For beginners, I recommend starting with light colors and gradually building depth by layering darker shades. For example, when coloring a deer or floral design, I usually apply a base of lighter greens like G420 or YG040 and then add shadows with darker tones such as GY173 or BG9. This layering technique gives your artwork a life-like dimension. It's also helpful to keep a color chart handy to remember which markers blend well together, especially with the variety of colors Ohuhu offers—from ash rose to neutral grey shades. Practicing small swatches before working on your final page helps prevent unwanted smudges or bleeding. Most importantly, coloring is a creative outlet and a way to relax. Don’t stress about perfection; enjoy the process and share your progress with communities using hashtags like #ohuhu #cocowyo and #alcoholmarker to inspire and learn from others. Engaging with fellow colorists has enhanced my skills and broadened my creative ideas.
