Annoyed #transwars #bafoon #bafoonery #ripkirk #stayawesome
You know that feeling, right? That simmering annoyance when you stumble upon some truly baffling behavior online – what I affectionately call 'bafoonery.' My original post was a quick vent, but honestly, it's something I think about a lot, especially when I see certain online communities get 'torn' apart by unnecessary drama. Lately, it feels like every corner of the internet has its own little 'Transwars' going on, whether it's episode seventeen of some fandom debate or just general bickering. I've seen discussions about 'Kirk' or even innocent 'teenagers' get 'ruthlessly mocked' for expressing an opinion. It makes you want to shout "WHY?!" or "FFIG OFF!" doesn't it? It's baffling why some people feel the need to be so 'conservative' in their approach to others' joy, or so 'ruthlessly' critical. I've definitely had my moments where I've wanted to engage, to ask, 'WHY SHOULD I' even bother with this negativity? It feels like some people are just waiting to pounce, to 'mock' anyone who steps out of line. The OCR of some images I shared really captured the sentiment: phrases like 'WHEN COWHEN HLESSLY' and 'ONSERVATIVE' really hit home when you see how quickly online discourse can devolve. It's like a community can get 'torn' apart so easily. So, how do I deal with it? First, I try to remind myself that not every comment deserves my energy. Sometimes, the best response to a 'bafoon' is no response at all. It's hard, especially when you see someone being treated unfairly, like a 'mocked teenager.' My heart goes out to them. It's about protecting your own peace. Secondly, I focus on the positive. Despite all the 'bafoonery', there are still so many amazing, supportive people online. I try to curate my feed to highlight those who genuinely 'stay awesome.' It’s about building a space where kindness prevails, even if you occasionally hear a 'JESUS' or 'ALRIGHT' in frustration from others. Finally, I practice self-care. If the online world starts to feel overwhelming, I 'shut' it down for 'a while'. Go for a walk, read a book, do something that makes you happy. Because at the end of the day, 'I DON'T CARE, KIRK' (or whoever the online 'bafoon' might be) if letting their negativity affect my real life. My mental health takes priority. It's a constant learning curve, but remembering to protect your peace and focus on what truly matters helps a lot. Let's all try to navigate these digital waters with a bit more grace and a lot less 'bafoonery'!
