I’ve listened to a lot of genres so……..

Sorry if it’s a little basic but for more go to pt.2

... Read moreHaving listened to a wide array of music spanning 126 genres, I can say it truly opens your ears to unexpected sounds and styles. One thing I’ve learned is that every genre offers treasures whether you’re into classic rock anthems like Nirvana’s "Smells Like Teen Spirit," indie pop vibes from The 30th, or the haunting artistry of Kate Bush’s "Running Up That Hill." Exploring such diversity can seem overwhelming, but my approach is to embrace recommendations and try songs from artists I might never have encountered otherwise. For instance, Lana Del Rey’s "Cinnamon Girl" blends moody atmospheres with poetic lyrics, creating a unique listening experience that’s hard to define but very rewarding. I also find that revisiting familiar names through different genres introduces a new dimension; Billie Eilish’s "Wildflower" showcases how modern pop can be simultaneously layered and intimate. Delving into underground or less mainstream genres, such as those represented by The Rare Occasions or TV Girl, further diversifies the palette and helps you appreciate musical storytelling on different levels. In my personal experience, keeping an open mind and using platforms that support extensive genre discovery—like Lemon8—can transform how you connect with music. It’s not just about quantity, but about the soulful quality and variety of sounds that speak to your mood and moments in life. If you enjoy this journey, I highly recommend continuing with part two of this series to dive even deeper into fascinating sounds and artists across the musical spectrum.
