Colleen has haters?!

Hey everyone! As someone who absolutely devours books, I wanted to share a bit more about my journey with Colleen Hoover's incredible stories. You know, it's fascinating how a story can transcend language, and for me, immersing myself in her world through Portuguese editions has been such a unique experience. I truly feel like I grasp all the nuances better in my native tongue, making the emotional rollercoasters hit even harder! Speaking of emotional rollercoasters, let's talk about É Assim Que Acaba (It Ends With Us), which I rated an 8/10. This book was truly something else – so nice, yet incredibly sad at the same time. Lily Bloom's story, her courage, and the difficult choices she faces really stuck with me. It’s a powerful exploration of domestic violence and the strength it takes to break cycles, and honestly, it left a huge lump in my throat. It's a must-read for its raw honesty and compelling characters. Then came É Assim Que Começa (It Starts With Us), which followed with a solid 9/10. For this one, I truly had 'no words,' especially when it came to Atlas! Getting to dive deeper into his perspective and see Lily's journey continue was incredibly satisfying. It provided such a beautiful sense of closure and hope, making you root for the characters even more. It’s the perfect companion to the first book, offering a much-needed balm after the intensity of its predecessor. Now, if you're looking for something completely different from CoHo, Verity is your go-to. I gave this one a mind-blowing 100/10, and let me tell you, I was 'too stunned to speak'! The plot twist was so good, it genuinely left me reeling for days. It's a psychological thriller that will keep you guessing, questioning everything, and probably looking over your shoulder. If you love a good suspenseful read that messes with your head, run, don't walk, to pick up Verity. The dark cover with gold lettering perfectly hints at the chilling story within. And finally, there's Tarde Demais (Too Late). I haven't read it yet, so my rating is currently a ‘?/10’. I've heard a lot of people say it's a 'bad book,' which makes me both curious and a little apprehensive. It definitely seems to be one of her more controversial titles, and I'm interested to see if my experience aligns with the general consensus, or if I'll find something unexpected in its pages. The starry sky cover gives off such a different vibe from the dark themes I've heard about! What I truly appreciate about Colleen Hoover is her ability to craft characters that feel so real, so flawed, and so relatable. She tackles tough subjects with sensitivity and an unflinching gaze, making her stories not just entertaining, but often deeply impactful. Whether it's the heart-wrenching romance or the thrilling suspense, her books always manage to evoke strong emotions.
