May 6th World Carnivorous Plant 🪴 Day
Happy World Carnivorous Plant Day! Today, May 6th, we celebrate these fascinating plants.
Did you know there are around 750 species of carnivorous plants? One interesting fact about the Venus Flytrap is that its flowers grow six to ten inches above its trap-like leaves, which are closer to the ground. This separation helps ensure that flying insects pollinate the flowers, while crawling insects are primarily consumed by the traps. (Source: cnr.ncsu.edu)
I get it—I'm nice to people who help me. And while I choose not to eat those that irritate me, I do try to avoid them.
