CHRONICLES OF A NEW WIDOW

CHRONICLES OF A NEW WIDOW

Entry 3

As a new widow, I often find myself consumed by thoughts I never imagined would cross my mind. Practical questions pop up in the most unexpected moments: Who will shovel the snow when my eldest son isn’t home? And then, the spiraling begins.🫣

What if I got a flamethrower to melt the snow instead? Would that be illegal? Would the neighbors call the police? Or would they cheer me on, secretly wishing they’d thought of it first?

So many questions. So few answers.

These are the kinds of thoughts that remind me how life’s small, mundane tasks suddenly feel enormous when you’re navigating them alone. What was once a minor inconvenience—shoveling snow—has turned into a full-blown philosophical debate about legality, efficiency, and whether Home Depot carries flamethrowers.🤔
