✨A Day trip to JB (Cafe, Massage, Seafood ✅)

Otto Café (10 mins from JB)

A very aesthetic café with a Europlane-inspired design. The food is enjoyable, nothing mind-blowing, but still good. I went early to avoid the crowd and that helped.

B&B Bakery (10 mins drive)

The latest hype bakery known for their shiopan. They offer many unique flavours and everything is freshly baked on the spot. Haven’t tried it yet, but it looks promising.

TangRetreat (5 mins drive)

A beautifully designed massage place, but extremely hard to book. They only take same-day reservations or walk-ins. I called and they were fully booked for body massages, so I took the foot + shoulder slot instead. The ambience is great, though the masseur’s skill is just average. Overall still a pleasant experience.

Ikan Bakar Tampin (10 mins drive)

Amazing seafood! Their sambal is super good and spicy, very shiok. Be prepared for long queues and waiting time.

That sums up my weekend day trip to JB!

... Read moreIf you're planning a day trip to Johor Bahru, there's so much more to explore beyond the spots I visited. For instance, Otto Cafe, known for its unique aesthetic and pleasant menu, could be enhanced by trying their seasonal specials, which many locals recommend. Also, B&B Bakery’s shiopan varieties are worth tasting one by one; their combination of flavors offers a delightful experience, especially when fresh from the oven. Regarding massages, since Tang Retreat only accepts same-day bookings, it’s smart to go early in the day or consider alternative massage places like Tian Shun Salon, which has good reviews for relaxing therapies. For those interested in additional spa and clinic options, aesthetic clinics in Tampin offer rejuvenating treatments perfect for weekend getaways. If seafood is your highlight, aside from Ikan Bakar Tampin, bamboo delight dishes and other pajb seafood ikan bakar menu items are local favorites you shouldn’t miss. Ikan Bakar Tampin's sambal sauce really completes the experience with its spicy kick, so preparing for a queue is part of the adventure! Overall, the blend of cafe culture, freshly baked treats, relaxing massages, and fabulous seafood creates a diverse and fulfilling day trip. Take your time to enjoy each spot, and maybe plan a few backups in case booking is tough. This way, your JB trip will be smooth, delicious, and memorable!
