Higher and Higher Prophetic Psalm
Revelation 22:12-14,16-17
[12]And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
[13]I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
[14]Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
[16]I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
[17]And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Reflecting on Revelation 22:12-17 has deeply enriched my spiritual journey. This passage highlights the urgency and certainty of Jesus' return, promising to reward everyone according to their deeds, underscoring the importance of living with integrity and obedience to God's commandments. What resonates most with me is verse 13, where Jesus declares Himself as the Alpha and Omega—the beginning and the end. This assertion brings comfort that God is sovereign over time and existence, offering a firm foundation for faith in uncertain times. Verse 14's blessing for those who keep God's commandments encourages a lifestyle that leads to eternal life, symbolized by the right to the tree of life and entry through the gates of the holy city. This inspires a personal reflection on my daily actions and how they align with divine guidance. Moreover, verses 16 and 17 emphasize Jesus as the bright morning star, bringing hope and light. The invitation articulated by the Spirit and the bride to “come” and take the water of life freely is a beautiful reminder of God’s grace offered to all, regardless of background or past mistakes. From my experience, embracing this passage has motivated me to deepen my faith and share this hopeful message with others. It encourages believers to eagerly anticipate Jesus' return and stay committed to their spiritual walk, knowing that grace is always accessible and that living faithfully brings eternal rewards.
