I Thought Making Friends Would Come Easy 😩😢
I knew when I moved away from my home state it would be lonely for a bit, but now it’s been 3 years and I still struggle finding women my age to hang with. Either they’re my coworkers and leave the job, they’ve already been locked in for years in a friend group, or some other reasons adults have.
I think I need to move closer to home or like a place with a bigger city. Birmingham

Moving away from home is lonely af. Many people who relocate from their hometowns find that making new friends is far more challenging than they initially expected. This difficulty is often due to established social circles, work transitions, and the natural complications adults face when trying to build new connections. If you’ve been struggling to find women your age to hang out with after moving, you’re not alone. One common issue is that coworkers may seem like potential friends at first, but job changes or departures can disrupt these budding relationships. Additionally, many adults already have their tightly-knit friend groups, making it hard for newcomers to integrate easily. Feeling stuck in this situation for a prolonged period can lead to frustration and loneliness. Considering a move closer to home or to a bigger city like Birmingham may bring new opportunities. Larger cities tend to offer a greater diversity of social activities, clubs, and meetups where you can meet people with similar interests or backgrounds. Whether it’s local hobby groups, fitness classes, or community events, actively seeking these out can open the door to lasting friendships. It also helps to use social media and apps designed for meeting new people in your area. #GirlTalk and #friendship forums or groups can provide virtual support and sometimes even organize in-person meetings. Engaging in such communities often breaks the initial ice and provides a sense of belonging. Remember, the process of finding authentic friendships takes time and effort, and it’s okay to feel vulnerable along the way. Making connections as adults is rarely as easy as we imagine, but with persistence and openness, it is possible to build a supportive and fulfilling social circle wherever life takes you.

I can definitely attest to this for real without friends or like any family are in the state that you live in is crucial and then I’m a homebody so it doesn’t make it no better I’ve been out alone in the state for the past almost 4 years and it’s been good, but it’s been bad
