Why does the most random crime happen in metro Atlanta?? I’m roadtripping around the US but still trying to stay caught up on metro Atlanta. Here are a few things that have happened lately including an escaped inmate who got away from Southern Regional Hospital, changed clothes, pretended to be a rec center employee, stole a lady’s car, led police on a high speed chase, and totaled it. (Update: turns out police say he stole a correctional officer’s keys after she fell asleep🫠). Another man was hit in the chest and still somehow just took himself to the fire station for help, dekalb county got yet another water main break, and ICE doesn’t plan to release GA college student Ximena Arias-Cristobal. She was initially pulled over for allegedly making an improper turn at a red light, but police later realized the officer pulled over the wrong car. It still revealed her status as a non-citizen and she seems set to be deported back to Mexico. Her father was pulled over for speeding two weeks earlier and is also in ICE custody.
