Who’s Coming To La For Mardi Gras?

Mardi Gras is a very eventful time down here in Louisiana specifically Nola. I wanted to give some advice to anyone who is coming or planned for next year to come.

1) DO NOT TRAVEL ALONE, it’s not recommended from me. Come with a group of your friends or meet up with people you know from down here. It is smarter and more fun with people you know. HOTEL ROOMS ARE GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE due to Mardi Gras, so if you haven’t booked your room already, make sure you have a place to stay and can afford it.

2) Buy a Fanny Pack or Small Bag, I’m sure can understand why I’m saying pack a fanny pack or small small bag while you enjoying yourself. Self explanatory, if not you can message me about it.

3) Pick a spot or good area to enjoy the festivities. A lot of people will be on Bourbon which is a hot spot for everybody but there are plenty of places to have fun and know where it is safer than others. Do with this information what you will. Any questions, you can message me.

4) Buy your own alcohol or daiquiris, Get you a nice Yeti and enjoy yourself. TRY SOME OF THE LOCAL SPOTS WHILE YOUR THERE IN NOLA. I personally prefer to buy my own daiquiri and put it in my Yeti to have so I’m not being wasteful or buying drinks from just anyone. With the traffic coming with Mardi Gras, the drinks may not be as good with multiple people around the local bars.

I hope this travel advice can be of some use and Happy Mardi Gras ☺️. You can comment below any questions or concerns. #travel #traveltips #Lemon8Diary #Lemon8 #mardigras #mardigras2024 #blackgirl #louisianatravel #traveltipsandtricks

... Read moreMardi Gras, often referred to as Fat Tuesday, is one of the most famous celebrations in the world, attracting thousands to the vibrant streets of New Orleans. To ensure a memorable trip, start planning early. The peak season leads to high hotel demand and prices, so consider booking accommodations well in advance. Additionally, safety is a prime concern during such large gatherings. It's best to explore the city with friends or a group, providing an added layer of safety and enjoyment. While Bourbon Street is a popular destination, don’t hesitate to explore lesser-known neighborhoods that offer unique festivities and a more local feel. Many bars and local vendors will serve excellent drinks, but consider bringing a reusable cup to enjoy your cocktails while roaming. Local daiquiris are a must-try for anyone visiting! Overall, embracing the festive spirit while keeping these tips in mind will ensure your Mardi Gras experience is not only safe but truly remarkable. Feel free to ask locals for recommendations and participate in various parades and events, diving deeper into the culture and traditions of this beloved celebration!

Hey! Where are some places in Nola that won’t be too chaotic but still experience pretty much everything? This is going to be my first time going there for Mardi Gras and I don’t know anything about locations.
