I want to go beyond the complexity of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mexico City, one of the largest cathedrals in the world. Art started with graffiti

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Mexico City. When I saw the overwhelming complexity of the architecture, I had a strong urge to draw something that was more precise than this. That is the origin of this art that started with a single ballpoint pen.

At first, it was just a step like graffiti, but as I continued to draw, infinite possibilities (INFINITE POSSIBILITIES) expanded, and before I knew it, it had evolved into a work of grand scale. The monochrome version drawn only with a ballpoint pen was completed in 2015, and the color version that sublimated its soul colorfully was completed in 2023.

メキシコシティ・メトロポリタン大聖堂の荘厳な姿は、多くの人にとってただの歴史的建築物以上の存在です。私も一度訪れてその圧倒的な細部の繊細さに感動し、それがきっかけで細密画の世界に足を踏み入れました。アートを始めたばかりの頃、最初は気軽な落書き感覚でボールペンを走らせていましたが、描けば描くほど深く入り込み、まるで建築物の複雑さを1つの絵に閉じ込めるような感覚になりました。この作品には『INFINITE POSSIBILITIES（無限の可能性）』というテーマが込められており、まさに無限の空間と細部の連続性を表しています。2015年のモノクロ作品から2023年のカラー版への展開では、色を加えることでまた新しい表情や命が吹き込まれ、見る者を飽きさせません。ボールペンだけでこれほどの表現ができることに驚きつつも、描き手としての根気と集中力の大切さを学びました。私の経験から言うと、こうした細密な作品は一気に描き上げるのではなく、日々の小さな積み重ねが大切です。また、たった一本のペンからスタートしたアートであっても、自分の中の情熱と探求心が無限に広がっていくことを実感しました。メキシコシティの大聖堂が持つ歴史と文化の重みをアートを通して感じられたのは、アーティストとしてとても貴重な経験でした。皆さんもぜひ身近なモチーフや感動から作品づくりを始めてみてはいかがでしょうか？
