Great Wall Pool Temple, Sisaket
The Great Wall Pool Temple is an old Rat temple, located at the Great Wall Pool House, Group 1, Great Wall Pool District, Uthumphon District, Sisaket Province. It is a local archaeological site and landmark theological site that reflects the cultural arts glory of the past.
The important Buddha is the Dirty Pang Nak Buddha, built of green stone, beautiful and sacred, about 1, 10 years old, 57 centimeters wide, 71 centimeters high, and when measured from the base of the Naga to the head of the Naga, a total of 132 centimeters high, sitting meditated over the 3-story Naga, March, a total of 7 heads, classified in sinful Khmer art, unearthed at the base of the 1st castle in 1949.
Also inside the temple is a stone castle, a big wall pool temple, built of stone, lang stone, with a rectangle, about 60 meters wide, 80 meters long. Inside the wall is the site of six castles. Built in the time of King Jayavarman VII, it is an invaluable historical heritage and the faith center of the people of the area to the present day.

วัดสระกำแพงใหญ่ที่จังหวัดศรีสะเกษนั้นนอกจากจะเป็นศาสนสถานที่สำคัญและมีประวัติศาสตร์ยาวนานแล้วยังเต็มไปด้วยเสน่ห์ของศิลปะเขมรที่ปรากฏชัดในพระพุทธรูปปางนาคปรกที่สร้างด้วยหินเขียวที่งดงามและมีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว ผมได้มีโอกาสไปเยี่ยมชมวัดแห่งนี้ พบว่าบรรยากาศรอบๆ สงบและเหมาะแก่การทำจิตใจให้สงบ รวมทั้งศึกษาหาความรู้เกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมโบราณที่ยังแฝงอยู่ในโบราณสถานต่างๆ สิ่งที่ทำให้ประทับใจมากคือปราสาทหินวัดสระกำแพงใหญ่ที่ตั้งอยู่ภายในบริเวณวัด มีขนาดใหญ่และยังคงสภาพดีมีความคงทนตามกาลเวลา ได้เห็นถึงความวิจิตรตระการตาของช่างฝีมือสมัยก่อนและความยิ่งใหญ่ของวัฒนธรรมเขมรที่รุ่งเรืองในอดีต ซึ่งถือเป็นมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่ควรค่าแก่การอนุรักษ์อย่างยิ่ง นอกจากนี้การเดินชมองค์พระพุทธรูปประทับนั่งบนเศียรนาคสามชั้นถือเป็นประสบการณ์ที่ล้ำค่า มีความรู้สึกถึงความศักดิ์สิทธิ์และความเชื่อที่แสดงถึงภูมิปัญญาโบราณ ผมแนะนำให้ผู้ที่สนใจด้านประวัติศาสตร์และศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย-เขมรได้ลองมาเยือนที่นี่ด้วยตัวเอง เพราะนอกจากจะได้ชมความงดงามของงานศิลป์แล้ว ยังได้เรียนรู้รากเหง้าและเรื่องราวลึกซึ้งของชุมชนในอดีตของพื้นที่นี้อีกด้วย สำหรับการเดินทางไปยังวัดสระกำแพงใหญ่ในอำเภออุทุมพรพิสัย จังหวัดศรีสะเกษ เดินทางไม่ยากและมีเส้นทางที่ค่อนข้างสะดวก ถือเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางสำหรับผู้ที่ชื่นชอบการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมและโบราณคดีอย่างแท้จริง
