Granny square purse 🪷
First time doing a full granny square shoulder purse, it’s not finished, just trying to figure out what color the inside lining will be.
Any suggestions? Pink, green, cream, or light brown..I can’t decide.
When creating a granny square purse, choosing the right lining color is crucial as it can dramatically affect the overall look and feel of the finished piece. From personal experience, lighter linings such as cream or light brown often complement the vibrant and multicolored nature of granny squares without overwhelming them. These neutral tones also brighten the purse’s interior, making it easier to find small items. If you want to add a pop of personality, pink can be a playful choice that adds warmth and a feminine touch, especially if your granny squares include warmer hues. On the other hand, green can give a fresh, earthy vibe, pairing wonderfully with natural or floral-themed crochet designs. Additionally, consider the fabric type of your lining. Cotton or linen with a slight texture tends to hold shape well inside purses and offers durability. If your purse will be used frequently, choose a fabric that withstands wear and tear while remaining soft to the touch. Don't hesitate to lay out swatches of your chosen fabrics next to your granny square purse in different lighting conditions. Sometimes colors look different under natural light compared to indoor lighting. Making a thoughtful decision here elevates your handmade bag from a simple project to a cherished accessory. Ultimately, trust your instincts and vision for the purse’s style. Whether you opt for a bold or subtle lining color, it’s your creative expression that makes the granny square purse uniquely yours.
