🌸 Wear Test Benefit New Primer 🌸
⭐️Overall rating: 8/10 this is such a good primer only thing is I was a little oily at the end of the day.
After seeing so much buzz about the new Benefit Porefessional Matte Primer, I finally decided to put it to the ultimate test myself. As someone with combination to oily skin, finding a primer that truly keeps shine at bay and blurs out my pores without feeling heavy is always a mission. I usually gravitate towards primers specifically designed for oil control, so 'The Pore Fessional' line always catches my eye. My first impression upon application was really positive. The texture is silky smooth, almost like a lightweight balm, and it glides effortlessly onto the skin. I focused on my T-zone, where my pores are most visible and oil tends to accumulate. Instantly, I noticed a significant blurring effect. My pores looked less prominent, and my skin felt incredibly smooth, creating a perfect canvas for my foundation. Makeup went on beautifully over it, and for the first few hours, my complexion looked flawlessly matte and airbrushed. This initial performance is definitely why I gave it a strong 8 out of 10. However, as the day progressed, my experience started to shift. By around the 6-hour mark, I began to see a subtle sheen creeping through, particularly on my forehead and nose. By the end of a full workday, I definitely felt a bit oily, requiring a touch-up with powder. While it didn't completely fail at oil control, it wasn't as long-lasting as some other dedicated matte primers I've tried. It seems to provide a good level of mattification for a good portion of the day, but perhaps not for those who experience extreme oiliness or need 12+ hours of shine control. When considering 'which one is better' among matte primers, it really depends on your specific needs. If you have mildly oily skin or just want to blur pores and achieve a smooth finish for several hours, this Benefit primer is a fantastic option. It excels at creating that 'soft-focus' effect. But if you're battling severe oiliness and need industrial-strength mattification for an entire day, you might find yourself reaching for blotting papers or powder touch-ups. I found that it significantly extended the wear of my makeup and prevented it from settling into fine lines, which is a huge plus. For application, I found that a pea-sized amount was more than enough for my entire face. I gently pressed it into my skin, rather than rubbing, especially in areas with larger pores. It didn't pill with any of my foundations, which is a common issue with some silicone-based primers, so that's a definite win. It layers well with other skincare products too, as long as you give them a moment to absorb. Overall, the Benefit Porefessional Matte Primer is a solid performer for achieving a blurred, smooth base and extending makeup wear. It's a great everyday primer if you're looking for moderate oil control and excellent pore perfection. For anyone asking for a Benefit pore primer review, I'd say give this new version a try if you're in the market for a reliable, blurring primer, but manage your expectations for extreme, all-day mattification. It's a good primer, just not the holy grail for my most oily days.
