💗 DEVOTIONAL:
Who you walk with… shapes where you go.
This scripture breaks it down in levels—
walk → stand → sit.
It starts small.
Just being around certain energy.
Then it becomes comfort.
Then it becomes agreement.
And before you know it…you’ve aligned yourself with something God never assigned to you.
During resurrection week, this matters even more—because you cannot rise into new life while staying connected to what pulls you back into old patterns.
💗 PRAYER:
God,
give me the strength to walk away from anything and anyone that is not aligned with You.
Sharpen my discernment.
Guard my heart from wrong connections.
And align me with people who reflect Your truth, Your love, and Your purpose.
Help me not just to be around the right people—
but to become the right person too.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Who pushes you closer to God?
Make one intentional shift—
whether it’s distance, boundaries, or deeper alignment.

When it comes to personal growth, especially during spiritual seasons like Resurrection week, the company we keep profoundly impacts our journey. From my own experience, I’ve realized that the people who surround us can either uplift our faith or subtly pull us back into negative habits and mindsets. The scripture from Psalm 1:1 highlights this beautifully by illustrating stages—walking, standing, and sitting with the wrong crowd—that can gradually shift our alignment without us even noticing. I've found that the first step is being mindful of subtle influences. Maybe it's a daily conversation or an environment that seems harmless but eventually shapes your thinking. For me, setting healthy boundaries with such influences often required intentional reflection and prayer, asking God for discernment to identify what relationships truly nurture my spirit versus those that drain it. Taking practical steps helped me grow: I started seeking out people who reflect God's love and truth, engaging in communities that encourage spiritual maturity and mutual support. It's not just who you avoid but who you intentionally align with. Sometimes, that means inviting friends to join you in prayer or faith-based activities and fostering connections that hold you accountable to your values. Also, the idea of not just being around the right people but becoming the right person resonates deeply. It challenges us all to evaluate our own behaviors and how we can be a positive influence in someone else's life. By embracing this mindset, I've experienced a more authentic, fruitful walk with God, especially during times of renewal and transformation. Ultimately, "checking your circle" isn't an act of exclusion rooted in fear but one of purpose—guarding your heart and spirit to embrace growth and new life. Taking time daily to assess who or what is affecting your thoughts, feelings, and spiritual health can reveal areas needing change, whether that’s creating distance, establishing boundaries, or seeking deeper alignment with God's plan for your life.
