... Read moreIt's so easy to feel discouraged when we’re pouring our heart and soul into something, yet the results aren't visible. I know that feeling all too well – the long nights, the early mornings, the constant striving, only to wonder if it's all worth it. That's why Galatians 6:9, urging us to “not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up,” resonates so deeply with me.
This verse isn't just a feel-good phrase; it's a powerful promise. It reminds us that our labor in faith is never in vain. Like a farmer diligently tending the fields, we might not see the sprouts immediately, but the Harvest IS. Coming. God sees every single effort, every quiet prayer, every act of kindness, and every step taken in faith. Even when we feel like we're just planting seeds into barren ground, He's working behind the scenes, preparing the soil and nurturing growth.
Sometimes, the wait feels incredibly long, making it tempting to throw in the towel. But I've learned that often, the wait is longer because the blessing God has prepared for us is truly *greater*. It requires us to build resilience, deepen our trust, and learn patience. This isn't just about personal gain; it's about staying consistent in our walk, in our service, and in whatever calling we believe God has placed on our hearts, whether it's in a formal ministry capacity or simply encouraging those around us.
When those moments of weariness hit, it's crucial to remember that we don't have to carry the burden alone. The OCR content reminded me of Psalms 62:8, which says, "Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge." It's okay to acknowledge our struggles and concerns. We can pour out our hearts to God, knowing He listens and cares. And recalling Psalms 29:10-11, about God's eternal reign and strength, helps me to HONOR GOD by remembering His ultimate power and authority. He is on the throne, and He will give strength to His people.
So, how do we practically "not grow weary"? For me, it's about small, consistent steps. It’s about daily prayer, finding encouragement in fellow believers, and constantly reminding myself of God’s faithfulness. It’s also about celebrating small victories and reflecting on how far I've come, rather than focusing solely on how far I have left to go. Because ultimately, whether it's a grand vision for our lives or simply striving to be a better person each day, the promise holds true: if we do not give up, our Harvest IS. Coming. Your dedicated efforts are seen, and a blessing with your name on it awaits in His perfect timing. Don't stop believing, don't stop working, and don't grow weary in doing good. All things truly do work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
