I've been reflecting a lot lately on Matthew 28:19, the call to 'go therefore and make disciples.' It’s such a powerful command, and sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming, right? We might wonder, 'Am I truly equipped for this?' Or perhaps, 'What if people reject what I share?' These 'My Concerns' are totally valid, and I've certainly had them myself. That's where I find so much comfort in another incredible verse, Matthew 11:28, which reminds us: 'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.' Before we can effectively go out and help others, we need to come to Jesus ourselves, lay down our burdens, and find that rest. It's not about relying on our own strength, but on His. When I feel weary or overwhelmed by the task of spreading His word, I remember that He’s there to give me peace. This rest isn't just about feeling calm; it's about renewing our spirit so we can serve from a place of abundance, not exhaustion. And for those moments when we do step out in faith, facing challenges or even opposition, there's a beautiful promise of 'God's Protection.' 2 Timothy 4:18 reassures us: 'The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.' This verse truly speaks to my heart, reminding me that even when things get tough, God is in control. He will protect us as we do His work, and He has a divine plan for our journey to His heavenly kingdom. Knowing this gives me the courage to speak up and share my testimony, no matter the circumstances. We're not alone in this mission; we're covered by His unfailing love and protection. So, how can we practically 'go and make disciples'? It might seem daunting, but it often starts with simple, everyday actions. It's about living out your faith genuinely, letting your light shine. Share your personal experiences of how God has worked in your life. Be a good listener to others who might be feeling 'weary and burdened.' Offer a kind word, a prayer, or simply be a friend. You don't need a seminary degree to share the hope you have in Christ. Your unique gifts, your voice, and your life story are powerful tools. Remember, it's not about converting everyone instantly, but about planting seeds, building relationships, and pointing people towards the One who offers true rest and promises eternal security in His heavenly kingdom. Let’s encourage each other to embrace this incredible calling with joy and confidence!
