Too much glue can create bulky bonds that fail to dry properly, while too little won’t secure the extension well enough, leading to premature lash fallout. I recommend using a fine-tipped adhesive brush or the right size of lash glue drop to control the amount applied. Humidity and temperature also play a critical role—the adhesive sets faster in warm, dry conditions and slower in cold or humid environments. Adjust your glue amount accordingly based on the salon conditions. In addition, client aftercare is just as important. Advising your clients to avoid oil-based products, excessive rubbing, or steam exposure in the first 24-48 hours can significantly enhance retention. Using a gentle lash brush daily can help keep extensions aligned without disturbing the bond. I’m also excited to share that I’m compiling 30 retention hacks into a comprehensive guidebook, covering everything from adhesive selection to advanced application techniques. These insider tips have helped me build a consistently booked schedule while keeping my clients happy with long-lasting, beautiful lashes. Remember, quality adhesive, precise application, and proper aftercare are the foundations for stunning lash retention, so take your time perfecting these aspects to transform your lash work.
