If you're looking to impress your guests with a holiday ham that's both sweet and spicy, this Brown Sugar & Chipotle Ham recipe is a must-try. The combination of brown sugar, chipotle peppers, and citrus from fresh oranges creates a rich glaze that complements the savory ham perfectly. The pineapple rounds add a delightful tropical sweetness and tender texture. To elevate your cooking experience, consider these tips: use a spiral-cut ham like the preferred purple ham from Walmart for easy slicing and maximum glaze absorption. When blending the chipotle peppers with orange juice and pineapple juice, adjust the number of oranges to control the glaze's acidity and sweetness. Be cautious with the amount of brown sugar—using half a bag allows the glaze to caramelize beautifully without becoming overly sweet or burnt. Cooking the ham at 350-360 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 minutes lets the flavors meld while keeping the ham moist; brushing the ham with the remaining glaze halfway through enhances the spicy-sweet profile. This recipe rates a mild spice level of 2/10, so it’s suitable for most palates but can be adjusted by adding more chipotle if you prefer a bolder kick. Finally, serving the ham with pineapple rounds not only makes for a beautiful presentation but also balances the smoky heat with juicy sweetness. Overall, this easy and viral recipe guarantees a never-dry ham that’s perfect for holiday dinners or any special occasion when you want to serve a memorable, crowd-pleasing dish.
