I began the process a couple of months ago by lightening my hair with bleach and 10 vol developer which only lightened me to a medium/light-ish brown but when I applied the purple to that shade, it wasnât as vibrant as I wanted and came out really dark almost like a dark brown with purple tint. I liked it for a while but ultimately wanted to go lighter. I tried using the same developer on the color I was at then which only served to remove the purple and left me with a nice medium auburn strawberry dark blonde that I debated leaving at that because everyone loved it and I thought it was cute. The only thing was that I was going for something a little more edgy/alternative looking like how I used to do my hair in middle school when I was a scene queen. I ended up using 30 vol developer this time around, thinking that I would have to leave it in at least twenty to thirty minutes. Nope, after just ten or fifteen minutes my hair was almost platinum blonde so I immediately rinsed it out. Iâve never been a blonde before and again debated just leaving it there đ¤Ŗ instead I just dried it off and proceeded with my purple dye and now I finally have my dream hair color. I left a small bottom layer of my original dark brown/blackish brown hair but now a good 85-90% of my hair is bright purple now and I fucking love it. I never did such a bold color on so much of my hair. I always dyed my bangs and chunks or sections of my hair bright and colorful or with raccoon tails and the main color black and always wanted something like this but worried that light colors wouldnât suit me.
